SIDC Lebanon at the Global Health Forum 2018
[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]SIDC participated in the first Global Health Forum 2018 organized by the Global Health Institute at the American University of Beirut on November 1 and 2. The Global Health Forum highlighted the global health challenges faced in low and middle income countries. The overarching theme was “Innovative Approaches to Global Health Challenges in Low and Middle Income Countries”. Throughout the forum, SIDC had a poster presentation on its recent pilot project, funded by USAID with the support of the International HIV/AIDS Alliance, on “Virtual Prevention for reducing HIV/STIs risks among Men who have Sex with Men” which was implemented between February and September 2018. Participants from across the globe learned about and appraised the pilot project for the courageousness and daring approach to tackling such a sensitive and taboo topic, and for using very innovative yet practical means of reaching out to the most hard-to-reach vulnerable populations across all regions in Lebanon.
