“Chou bta3rif”: A series of Flyers to Educate – Engage – Empower Youth in Lebanon
The ImPOWER project – “Educate, Engage, Empower”, which is implemented by SIDC with the support of UNICEF in Lebanon with the aim of educating and empowering youth.
This project, in cooperation with the National Mental Health Program – the Ministry of Public Health, also contributes to building the capacities of social workers in Lebanon in the field of mental health, which is one of the goals of the “National Mental Health Strategy” 2015-2020″.
A total of 4 different Flyers entitled “Chou bta3rif?” were created and distributed during that period of time, respectively related to:
- Sexually Transmitted Infections
- Substance use and antidepressants and their impacts
- Healthy sexual life
- Male and Female Condom
VCT cards were also created and distributed during the field outreach , hygiene kits were distributed in addition to the provision of harm reduction kits to all SIDC’s beneficiaries in need.
Increased awareness among youth regarding drugs use and STI risks in addition to prevention methods and detecting serological status of tested youth.
Furthermore, increase in the number of referral for youth in need of psycho-social support and mental health support especially due to unrests and the outbreak of COVID-19 pandemic.
