Assessment of the Availability and Accessibility to Needles and Syringes Services in Lebanon
This report describes the specific characteristics of the current Needle and Syringe Programs including different components, settings, delivery methods, barriers, challenges, legal aspects and others. It includes also the barriers and challenges faced by People Who Inject Drugs and recommendations for program improvement as well as actions that are required to scale up these services nationally.
This assessment was approved by the Ministry of Public Health in Lebanon and the Institutional Review Board (IRB) of Saint Joseph University. A mixed methods design was adopted using quantitative and qualitative methods.
