SIDC with Les Scouts du Liban at “Rovers 100”
SIDC participated in the national event “Rovers 100” launched by the Rovers Branch at Les Scouts du Liban on the 1st of July 2018.
Around 1,200 Scout members (boys and girls) aged between 17 and 22 coming from 112 different groups were presents from all over Lebanon: North Lebanon (Akkar, Tripoli, Zgharta, Batroun, etc.), Mount Lebanon (Jbeil, Jounieh, Metn, Baabda, Chouf, Deir el Amar, etc.), Bekaa (Zahle, Jdeidet El Fekha, etc.), Beirut and suburbs, and South Lebanon (Jezzine, Maghdouche, Rmeich, Ain Ebel, etc.) to celebrate the international 100th anniversary of the Scout-Rovers’ branch created by Lord Baden Powell.
The motto of the Rovers “To Serve”, a “Community Project Fair” that took place, began on this day for numerous of NGOs, including SIDC, to discuss various interests for youth, and the issues and needs of our community.
The main goal was to introduce the Rovers to the many opportunities that are present in the country for them to explore ideas for their future community services and to educate them on how to plan for sustainable projects with a high impact on our society and environment.
